Just a few minutes from the crossroads in Cashiers is a quaint little cottage for sale just waiting for new owners to make it their own. This cozy little place has been in use since it was built in 1915 and has all the turn-of-the-century charm expected from a cottage of that time period. Nestled behind a privacy hedge of rhododendrons, this place has lots of privacy. A circular driveway means ease getting in and out, and there is an enclosed single car garage.
The grounds, on which there is a gazebo, have been lovingly tended and groomed with lots of shrubs and flowering perennials to enjoy throughout the spring and summer months. You might also choose to enjoy one of the swings or rocking chairs on the front porch, which runs the length of the home.
The front hall/entryway is perfect for displaying books of precious memorabilia on the shelves. To the right is the bedroom. The generous closet has room for storage, and the windows give views of the front and side yards. The large master bath beckons one to relax in the tub after a day of hiking or working in the yard.
To the left of the entryway is the living room. With its wood ceiling and gas log fireplace, all that is needed is a good book and warm drink on a cool mountain evening. Passing through, one finds the kitchen and, to the right of that, the dining room.
Left of the kitchen is the mud/laundry room which has a full bath with walk in shower. The mud room gives way to the side deck with stairs going down to the driveway and garage.
This cozy little house will make someone a great starter home or vacation getaway. It is being sold furnished. Call the Carolina Cone Team today for a private tour of this or any other home in the area. They will be honored to have the opportunity to help you locate your perfect real estate fit.

Fall is here! Leaves are changing…this isn’t the most colorful year for our leaves, but beauty nonetheless abounds.
Fall in the Mountains
This is my ninth season here as a transplanted local. I never tire of it. Of all four seasons, fall is my favorite. Perhaps because where I grew up, fall simply meant that, unless it was evergreen, it turned brown and that temperatures would generally stay below 90. It sounds terrible, I know; there are things I miss from Louisiana, but this is home now. I didn’t grow to love it; it was love at first sight. It was where I was meant to be. It helps to define me. I love a warm drink on my deck, wrapped in a quilt, looking out over the water. The crisp air puts a snap in my step (at least as much snap as an old lady can take) as I walk down to the pasture. The cows come to the fence to be petted. Yep, even the farm animals somehow seem more genteel in the fall wearing their fuzzy coats in place of shiny summer fur. The streams seem to babble a little differently. The deer, bear, and rabbits have been frequenting my yard. My canine kids snuggle down for naps curled up rather than spread out like seven days wash. My kitchen even exudes fall with the smells of black walnut cake, caramel apple pie, and warm buttermilk biscuits dripping with pear honey. It is, perhaps, nature’s way of telling us that winter is around the corner, that we should enjoy this fleeting time, this tapestry woven by nature.
It is the wish of all of us at the Carolina Cone Team that you, too, enjoy this fall. Whether at a boisterous fall festival or on a quiet path in the woods, take a few minutes to relish where we are and how blessed we are to be here. If you are visiting, welcome. If you don’t like the idea of leaving, call us. We can help you find a place of your own. Then you can see for yourself all the seasons, and after a year or two, decide if fall is your choice for favorite.
Until next time,

A lovely home for sale in Holly Forest XI is the focus for today. Come along for the tour. While the yard is manicured, it has been done leaving as many trees in place as possible, which leaves one feeling a communion with nature. There is an inviting rocking chair front porch, from which to enjoy these surroundings.
Through the front entry, you are greeted by a large living room. Natural light abounds. A gas log fireplace assures you of warmth on chilly winter nights. Gleaming wood floors add a warm feel to the room. Arched doorways lead to the dining room and kitchen, respectively. Everyone knows I am always drawn to the kitchen, and this was no exception. There is ample counter space and plenty of cabinets. The breakfast bar invites companionship from family and friends as meals are prepared. The spacious dining room accesses and open deck, great for grilling, dining al fresco, or just relaxing in privacy.
The master suite is on the main level and features both a jetted tub and walk in shower. Two generously sized bedrooms, a full bath, and loft comprise the upper level. The lower level has a fourth bedroom with a wet bar and en suite bath, the laundry room, and an enclosed double garage that is more than large enough to encompass a workshop.
This home would make an excellent choice for those wanting a year round residence or would work equally well as a “home away from home”. Call the Carolina Cone Team today for a private showing.

Nestled in Holly Forest 6 is a home that offers a lot for the price. There is an attached two car garage…what a blessing in inclement weather! The lovely tree studded front yard offers privacy, while the almost level back yard provides great play space for youngsters and adults alike. Spend a little time on the rocking chair front porch relaxing with a cool drink and a good book in nice weather.
Step inside the front door and take in the great room. The kitchen and dining areas have gleaming wood floors. There are plenty of cabinets. The kitchen island provides more storage, and also serves as a breakfast bar or a spot for friends and family to keep you company as meals are prepared.
On into the living area we find a stone faced gas log fireplace, very cozy and low maintenance for those cold mountain nights in the winter. The fenestrated rear wall of the house brings nature inside and floods the room with light. Living space is expanded thanks to the screened rear deck, which overlooks the back yard and green space.
The split floor plan of the home has two bedrooms and a bath on either side of the great room. With a total of four bedrooms, there is plenty of space for family and guests. There is also a loft with a half bath, which would be great for overflow sleeping, an office, or a hobby room.

A delightful little starter home is for sale in Sapphire. This attractive house would also make a great rental property. It has been recently renovated.
The home welcomes you immediately with a large covered front porch. The foyer gives way to a generous living room that features wood floors.
Down the hallway I find the kitchen and dining area. There are plenty of cabinets and counter space. Just off the kitchen is a bonus room with a full bath that could be suited to your specific needs, be it extra sleeping space, a play room for the kids, or a hobby/exercise room.
The master bedroom has a ½ bath. There are two guest rooms and another full bath as well.

The New Year is off to a galloping start with the Carolina Cone Team. We have a new listing in Holly Forest IX. This home for sale on Trays Island Road has so very much going for it. The circular drive makes for easy access and egress, and there is an enclosed double garage to shield you from inclement weather. A security system is in place, so you have no worries at all when you are away.
Step up onto the rocking chair front porch and through the front entry with me for a quick tour…you’ll want to see this place for yourself. Gleaming wood floors greet you as you step into the foyer. To the right is the kitchen. OK, we all know a kitchen is my go-to room, and I really like this one. It is well organized with plenty of cabinets, lovely granite counters, subway tile backsplash, and a breakfast bar. Why did I leave my cookery books at home?
Those wood floors continue into the great room, with its exposed beams and stone wood burning fireplace. Encompassed here is also a dining area for those times when you want to sit down and enjoy those meals you’ve prepared. This entire room is warm and welcoming, great for time with friends and family. The upper level deck, accessible from the great room, extends the living area and overlooks the 17th tee of the Sapphire National Golf Course.
Twin master suites on either side of the great room are located on the main level. One has both a walk-in shower and a jetted tub. For convenience and ease of use, the laundry room is also on the main level.
Downstairs, an oversized recreation room is the perfect place for family entertainment. The lower level deck, accessed from this area, is screened and has steps that lead to the back yard. This is just the perfect place for relaxing while listening to the soft babbling waters of the stream that runs through this property. There are two more bedrooms and two full baths also here.
Call the Carolina Cone Team today for a private showing of this wonderful home that is just waiting for a new family of its own. We would surely hate for you to miss out on a home with so much to offer.

Do you love the thought of having a place of your own, but you aren’t fond of all the exterior maintenance? Have you considered a townhome? There is one in Sapphire that has all the extras one normally finds in a high end home, but someone else has all the hassle of exterior building maintenance and landscaping.
I located this end unit and walked in, noting a lovely kitchen on my right. Since (if you have read these blogs before) you know how I love to cook, I walked right in and made myself at home. There were an abundance of cabinets, lovely stylish stainless appliances, and beautiful granite countertops. The open “window” looks into the dining area and living room, meaning you aren’t cut off from your family and friends if you happen to be in here preparing meals.
The dining and living rooms have tongue and groove ceilings. A custom stone fireplace is the focal point of the living room. I walk through this lovely room and open the back door to the deck and find a view that takes me aback for a moment. Views like this are normally reserved for upscale luxury homes. I can see in my mind’s eye the revolving views as the season’s change. There is a soft breeze blowing out here that makes me want to stay, though I know this is not an option.
Back inside, I find the master suite. This is a generously sized room with windows that have that same view I got from the deck. There is also another stone fireplace. The bath features a granite top vanity, a large soaking tub, and a tiled shower.
There are two guest bedrooms with a “Jack-and-Jill” bath, granting plenty of room for family and guests. Ownership includes the Sapphire amenities. Golf courses, shopping, and dining are all nearby. There is something for everyone.
Give a thought to ownership of a townhome. This one is a gem. Call the Carolina Cone Team for the chance to see it before it is gone.
Until next time…

Nestled in the quiet subdivision of Whisper Lake is a log cabin for sale that has a lot of features you might not expect in a house this size. Come with me as we take a tour.
My first “wow” at this home was the water feature. There is a lovely stone recirculating pond and waterfall at the back of the house at the edge of the lower level deck. How relaxing! And to enjoy it in comfort, there is a screened porch with a bar and grill.
Of several entrances to the home, I chose the lower level for no reason other than it was the closest. I find myself in the family/recreation room. Next to it is a large laundry room, as well as access to the attached garage with workshop area.
Upstairs, I enter the great room, and what a spacious room it is! Wood floors, soaring wood cathedral ceilings, a wall of windows, and a floor to ceiling stone fireplace all serve to make you feel welcome and warm. There is a loft for overflow sleeping or whatever you may need. There is access from this room to the lovely large upper level deck.
The kitchen is set up for efficiency and extends into a dining area. Also located on the main level are the master suite and two guest rooms.
What are you waiting for? Call the Carolina Cone Team today for a private showing of this log cabin that would be great for a year round residence, vacation home, or a rental property.
Until next we meet…

Nestled at the end of a cul-de-sac in the quaint subdivision of Sheepcliff Woods, is a three story home for sale that is just waiting for a new family to move in and make memories. I think one of my favorite things about this house is the windows…lots and lots of windows. They almost bring nature inside. With more than 2.5 beautifully wooded acres for the home site, there is plenty of nature to enjoy just outside your door.
The spacious great room features a gas log fireplace and wood floors. French doors open onto the large partially covered deck, where you can sit and relax, enjoy your meals al fresco, or expand your space for entertaining.
The kitchen and adjacent dining room are perfect for preparing and enjoying meals at home as you gaze out the windows. The blues of the tile backsplash in the kitchen reminded me of the Carolina skies.
Upstairs is a generous master suite with a private open deck. The master bath features both a jetted soaking tub with a window view and a walk in shower.
The lower level of the house is made up of the family room with a fireplace, two guest rooms and a full bath. There is a covered deck on this level as well.
The layout has plenty of room for family or guests, yet also affords privacy. The attached double garage means that you don’t have to worry about getting out in inclement weather. There is so much potential for this house. Call the Carolina Cone Team today for a private showing. See if this is the place to make your memories.
Until next time, I remain…
