Tucked away in Sapphire Valley is a Holly Forest I home for sale that is a rare find. I pulled up and noticed immediately the nearly level driveway. There is a privacy hedge along the roadside that, as I exited my vehicle, gave me the feeling of being far from town, although I knew there were neighbors relatively close by. I noted a detached two car garage, a plus for anyone, but a major plus for those of us here year round.
Walking up the steps there is a sweet veranda (Now there is an out-of-vogue word for you, courtesy of my very “deep south” upbringing.) with chairs inviting me to have a rest and take time to listen to the gentle rain that is falling. I am brought back to reality by the loud woof of what I can only assume is the head of my welcoming committee. My tours of these homes is mostly solitary, leaving me to imagine what it must be like to inhabit each of them. Not so here…I am greeted with a loud invitation to play…after all, a little drizzle never hurt anyone.
Inside, to the right of the entryway, is the kitchen. With a window looking into the front yard and plenty of cabinets for storage, I can definitely see myself in here. Although not large, it isn’t at all cramped and is well organized.
The great room features a fireplace and warm wood floors. The glass doors open onto the large screened porch. This is definitely a great space, up in the treetops, where you can enjoy all the sounds of nature. The door at one end leads to an open area of the deck. Depending on weather, one of these two outdoor living spaces would be a great place to savor a meal prepared in the aforementioned kitchen. About this time, my canine tour guide points out that it is also a great place to play with stuffed toys or get a belly rub or chin scratch. This place is certainly leaving me smiling thus far.
The home features a split floor plan, and I head to the master suite. It is a good sized room with windows that offer a view of the treetops and the screened porch. Across the great room there are two guest rooms and another bath. All bedrooms on the main level is not something seen every day in this area.
The stairs in the great room lead to a lower level. This is an area with possibilities limited solely by your imagination. There is a full bath, so consider it for additional sleeping space. The glass doors lead to a lower covered deck, suggesting perhaps a family/game room. Personally, I thought immediately of quilting and music. You just need to see what the room suggests to you.
Call us today for a private showing. You might even get to meet my tour guide, although he doesn’t come with the house. Meanwhile, I think perhaps a game of fetch in a gentle rain may be just the thing to end this visit…
